Troop Leading Procedure (TLP)
Submitted by admin on Thu, 06/18/2009 - 19:14If you have ever been tasked with leading a group of players into combat, especially a few days or weeks before the game is held, and you've asked the question, "How am I going to do this?" then this article is for you.
Troop Leading Procedure is something that is often overlooked by leaders. They figure "It's just a game, I don't have to take it THAT seriously." TLP is a method of making a plan for a particular mission and organizing the troops, or even leaders that are under your command.
Leadership Basics
Submitted by admin on Thu, 06/18/2009 - 19:13If it hasn't happened to you already, eventually you will be given command of a few players. Quite often, it happens without you knowing ahead of time and it happens in the middle of a game. Knowing what to do with the players, how to command them, and little things to help out will go a very long way in turning the "rag tag" team that you now command into an effective battlefield machine.
ECLiPSE RBAV Review
Submitted by Yuka on Thu, 06/18/2009 - 14:53Back in October I placed an order for this vest. It is now January and I'm holding it in my hand. I've previously owned the CIRAS and since the RBAV can be considered a redesign of the CIRAS, I'm going to approach this review looking at the changes made in the design and construction of the RBAV when compared to the CIRAS.
The RBAV looks very much like a CIRAS. It's almost a cross between the maritime and land CIRAS. Overall the RBAV is a much lower profile when compared to the CIRAS and the weight of the RBAV is noticeably lighter than the CIRAS.
Mayflower UW GENIII Vest Review
Submitted by admin on Thu, 06/18/2009 - 13:55Submitted and written by Brian Clarkson
I had been eyeing Mayflower's kit on SoldierSystems for some months before I finally decided to buy one. I emailed Mayflower about having one of the UW Vests made in RG, however they were 45-60 days out so I went ahead and bought one of the coyote ones.
I ordered the UW vest and a tourniquet strap through OPTactical with the total coming to $160. I ordered after the “if you order by ___ we will ship same day” but they still shipped that day. Via UPS ground the package arrived in exactly a week from the date I ordered it.
First impressions before I even opened the box was how light it was – I weighed it on my digital scale and it came to 15.8 ounces. Mayflower says his 550/330 hybrid weighs that as well...

Buddy Team Tactics
Submitted by Yuka on Sun, 05/31/2009 - 13:10Buddy teams are the lowest form of organization on the battlefield. They are also the smallest group size that should leave secured areas as individuals do not last long in combat and can be considered completely ineffective.
This article was written by Yuka from his experience with guidance from some of the US Army Field Manuls.
Individual Soldier Skills
Submitted by Yuka on Sun, 05/31/2009 - 13:07Fighting individually is a daunting task, you should be fighting with a buddy and no less. However, there are some tricks and skills that you can learn to help you stay alive until friendly reinforcements arrive.
This is in Yuka's own words and not directly derived out of any particular military field manual but from Yuka's experience on the battlefield.
