METT-TC - Planning Considerations
Submitted by Yuka on Mon, 03/08/2010 - 09:04Planning a mission and taking into account every factor and variable to adjust plans accordingly is a large part of a successful mission. There is a lot to consider, everything from enemy situation, to terrain, to available resources, to even the weather situation. All can affect how a mission is completed or if it is completed at all.
Reporting
Submitted by Yuka on Mon, 03/08/2010 - 05:52Reporting contact with the enemy or another force on the field is an important task. Providing accurate and efficient information not only increases the effectiveness of the unit, but also allows for leadership to make decisions more accurately and quicker, providing resources where needed and in an efficient manner. This, in effect, benefits the entire unit.
US Army Uniform Standards
Submitted by Yuka on Sat, 03/06/2010 - 12:02A lot of people on various fields do not wear uniforms to the US Army regulations. This may be due to lack of understanding or because it is not within their scope of uniform wear.
This guide will provide a brief overview of modern US Army Uniform regulations for field uniforms. Everything here is derived from Army Regulation (AR) 670-1, which covers US Army Regulation on uniform wear.
This guide applies to any modern US Army impression that uses a field uniform that has the RAID modification, otherwise known as a uniform having velcro pockets on the shoulders. All references to right or left will be the soldier's right or left has he or she is wearing the uniform, unless otherwise noted.
9-Line MEDEVAC Request
Submitted by Yuka on Wed, 02/24/2010 - 08:36In today's Army, the MEDEVAC request is a huge lifesaver. The US Army standardized the MEDEVAC request years ago in order to create a standard that made making a request fast and efficient.
The MEDEVAC request is used when troops in the field need to be evacuated to a medical facility for treatment of injuries or sickness. In today's modern military a MEDEVAC request can call in helicopter or ground transport to move the casualty or casualties but more often than not it is a helicopter that responds.

Adding MilSim Gameplay to Non-MilSim Events
Submitted by Yuka on Thu, 02/18/2010 - 07:56A lot of airsoft and paintball event producers cater to what has the highest demand - what will bring them the most business. Do you blame them?
The problem is that often times the hardcore MilSim players are left out. The games are made to provide fast, run-and-gun gameplay over the alternatively slower gameplay offered by Military Simulation. But some people want simulation and could care less about run-and-gun". It's actually possible to provide an event that caters to both types of participants. Don't believe me? It's been done and with a high level of success, too!

Operation Order
Submitted by Yuka on Sat, 12/12/2009 - 03:24The Operation Order is a document created and issued to subordinate elements, units, and leaders. It describes the details of a particular unit's operation as well as adjacent units in the command structure and on the field. It is an integral part of today's military planning.
It is the primary order that is given to a unit for a mission but not the only type. A Fragmentary Order (FRAGO) or Warning Order (WARNORD) may be given.
See the graphic below for a basic understanding of the structure of an Operations Order:
Can't log in?
Submitted by admin on Sun, 12/06/2009 - 18:38I forgot to mention this earlier. During the revamp process, I decided to not carry over the accounts.
If you find that you can't log in, then you probably do not have an account. Please register using the links on the left hand side of the website.
Thank you for your patience and I'm sorry if this causes any problems.
Site Revamp
Submitted by admin on Sat, 12/05/2009 - 23:15With the old site almost dead and stalled due to a rudimentary issue with the content management system backend not allowing an easy avenue for community members to create and publish their own content without someone to moderate I decided it would be best to rebuild the site from scratch.
This new content management system allows community members to step and provide content in addition to a bunch of nifty features that should boost MilSim.com's productivity and traffic.
So that being said, I hope you all enjoy the new website and it's features.
